- How do I become a member of the Virginia Drug Court
Association?
- When and where does the association meet?
- Do I have to be an operational court to join?
- Where can I obtain additional information about
drug courts in Virginia?
- I am student interested in conducting research
about drug courts in Virginia or interning with a drug court. Who can
I contact for information?
[Annual membership runs from the July 1 through June 30th of each year.
The annual membership fee is $50 for an individual membership or $250 for a six
member court or planning team membership.]
[The Virginia Drug Court Association meets every other month from 10:00am to
2:00pm at the Richmond Police Academy. If you would like to attend a
meeting, please e-mail Melanie Meadows at least five days prior to the meeting
at meadowsm@chesterfield.gov to
obtain a lunch order form. Lunch is provided to all members as part
of the dues. If you are not a member but would like to attend, please
contact us at meadowsm@chesterfield.gov
and we would be happy to have you as our guest.]
[Absolutely not! Many individuals join the association during the
planning phase to take advantage of the networking and educational opportunities
provided by the association.]
[Many of the operating courts in Virginia would be glad to help you by
providing support, technical assistance, advice and/or forms. You may use
our list of contacts to e-mail the drug court administrators in the state for
specific assistance or contact us and we'll direct your question to the
appropriate staff in the state.]
[Our best advice is to contact the drug court that is closest to your school
for more information. Many programs would be happy to work with you.]
